I paid about $260 for 2 nights.īutterfly Rainforest is like stepping into a page of a fairy tale book. I would not stay here again given this experience. Had a few bugs in the room & could hear music from the bar downstairs but it was not bad enough to stop me sleeping on the 3rd floor. I didn’t stay in the main building so I can’t say what the quality is like in those rooms but I feel it is completely misleading to have the word ‘Resort’ in the name. The staff asked me for a credit card for incidentals and I thought they meant for a mini bar and snacks but it was for damage that you or your pet do to the room. The tables and chairs were the portable plastic type. I drove to a diner the second day so I could have eggs and better coffee. There was a cheapness to everything that seemed to be trying to sell itself as an upgrade.įor example breakfast was included but it was all cheap pre wrapped, pre packaged, pre processed foods of debatable nutrition. For example my shoes would feel very slightly damp putting them back on. Suggest reading other reviews on this place to see patterns.Ībsolutely the rooms were clean, decent sized and all amenities worked well (shower etc) but the decor is old and there was a continuous dampness that I could not put my finger on. The restrooms are very clean and roomy and ever so quaint - worth a visit, too!Īccessibility is good and there is ample parking around the building. All very low-key, there is no pushiness to get you to buy anything, they obviously know just how excellent their products are! There is also a store which offers for purchase all the various products from the distillery, with a tasting station so you can sample what you're thinking of buying. The samples aren't huge, but they are fairly potent on an empty stomach! □) The varieties of bourbon, gin, and rum, as well as the ready-made mixers are delicious. The various tasting stations are a nice touch and certainly add to the experience. Staff is friendly and very approachable if you have questions they clearly take pride in their place of work. If we'd had more time we would have called ahead to arrange for an in-person guided tour, which I'm sure would have been excellent. We did a self-guided tour through the distillery which was quite adequate for our time frame and very informative. Neat place with lots of interesting historical displays and information about their distilling processes with plaques, pictures, and displays.
